Won't my child become violent and aggressive with
karate training?
It is continually stressed that karate training is only for defense and
all students are taught that they are never to be abusive or offensive.
Due to the humility and restraint gained from karate, our students are described
as courteous and polite, rather than violent and aggressive.
Why is karate training better for my child than football,
soccer, or other sports?
Have you ever seen a 60 year old quarterback? That's how old my instructor
in Korea was and he was the best kicker I've ever known. Karate is a life
long pursuit that forges character and creativity as well as physical development.
Karate and other martial arts are often inappropriately compared to sports.
A better comparison would be to painting or playing a musical instrument.
In the unfortunate circumstance that someone attacks your child, the attacker
is not going to care about how many touchdowns or goals your child has scored.
As he grimaces in pain and stops attacking your child, the attacker is going
to care about the front snap kick to the groin your child learned in karate
class.
What if I don't have the time to exercise or pursue
martial arts training?
You don't have the time not to train. Increased focus, energy, and overall
health from karate add hours to your day and days to your life.
What if my child is too young for martial arts training?
They should definitely learn to walk before they learn to do a jump spinning
crescent kick! If your child is old enough to use the bathroom unassisted,
then he is probably old enough to begin training. Your first session is
always FREE, so bring your child in for an accurate assessment.
What if I'm too old to exercise or begin martial arts
training?
You are never too old to learn. You are never too old to improve your health.
Exercise helps fight osteoperosis, heart disease, and other health concerns
of those in their mature stages of life.
